REVA University B Tech Program Overview:

Civil engineering, recognised as one of the oldest and broadest branches of engineering, is mainly concerned with the design, creation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities in the built and natural environments surrounding us. The civil engineering profession recognizes the reality of limited natural resources, the desire for sustainable practices including life-cycle analysis and sustainable design techniques, and the need for social equity in the consumption of resources.

As a civil engineer, one is entrusted with the highest responsibilities of nation building. There is growing need for innovation in civil engineering to build infrastructure projects that are economical and that function properly with a minimum of maintenance and repair while withstanding anticipated usage and weather; should conserve energy and allow hazard-free construction while providing healthy, safe, and environmentally sound utilization by the society.

Keeping these factors in mind the B Tech in Civil Engineering is designed to produce top class civil engineers to meet present day challenges. The program of study among others includes: structural engineering, concrete technology, transport engineering, water supply and sanitary engineering, geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics and machinery, structural mechanics, hydrology and water resources, irrigation engineering.

Duration:      4 Years

Eligibility:  Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics / Technical Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.
